Michele Saxe
Sixth Grade - Mathematics: Grades 5-8
Mrs. Michele Saxe received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Binghamton with a double major in mathematics and economics. Upon graduation, she worked in applied mathematics as an actuary for a life insurance company for 14 years. Motivated by her passion to help others and wanting to spend more time with her family, she decided to change her career. She attended the College of St. Rose and earned her Master of Science in Adolescent Education. Mrs. Saxe is NYS Certified in mathematics, grades 7-12. She has been teaching middle school math at Mater Christi School (formerly St. Catherine of Siena) for over 15 years. Over the years, she has served the school in various capacities as the middle school child study team chair, the diocesean accreditation committee representative and as a Title 1 math tutor. Mrs. Saxe is currently a teacher advisor for the Student Council, a member of the RTI team and a Eucharistic Minister for school masses. She loves teaching math and is dedicated to helping her students reach their full potential. In her free time, Mrs. Saxe likes to read, watch movies, exercise, hike, travel and spend time with her family. She especially enjoys nature and visiting State and National Parks.
